How To Join

How do I become a member of Happy Science?

To join there is an application form, and a short welcoming ceremony in which you will be asked, "Do you believe in the Lord?"  All will receive the prayer book, "The Dharma of the Right Mind."

What the “Dharma of the Right Mind” offers

The book of the basic sutras of Happy Science is the “Dharma of the Right Mind” which includes seven sutras by Master Ryuho Okawa. The most important is the first sutra, “Words of Truth: The Dharma of the Right Mind.” We can recite this sutra in just five minutes but it contains all the basic teachings of Happy Science, which are “Exploration of the Right Mind” and “The Principles of Happiness – Love, Wisdom, Self-Reflection and Progress.” By reading this sutra out, you can harmonize your mind.

I recommend as a daily practice that you set aside a time to be quiet, concentrate your thoughts and recite the “Dharma of the Right Mind,” our most basic sutra. Then infinite wisdom will well up abundantly from within you. This Dharma has been written in words charged with the energy that comes directly from the life force of Shakyamuni Buddha. It is a manifestation of the wisdom of this great universe. The light of wisdom, the treasure of the human race, reaches you through your golden channel. In this way, without seeking power from others or from your external environment, you will be able to carve out a path with your own power. Do not become lost in random thoughts or absorbed in aimless reading; instead, awaken to your own inner wisdom. In order to guide you, I created the “Dharma of the Right Mind.” The numerous books I have published are, in a way, aimed at helping you understand this Dharma more deeply. So using those books as a reference to help in your understanding of Truth, I would like you to practice meditating, with the “Dharma of the Right Mind” always beside you. I am sure that you will be granted infinite wisdom and the great light of hope.
